Behavior Intervention Support Team (BIST)
De La Salle’s commitment to providing an empowering, holistic
education encompasses helping students understand what it
means to make individual choices and accepting the consequences
of those actions. To this end, teachers all receive training in a
program called “Behavior Intervention Support Team,” referred to as
“BIST.” The main tenet of BIST is to balance accountability with grace,
while treating each moment as an opportunity to teach students
about self control, introspection, and the natural consequences
of their actions
Students may take a few weeks to adjust to the lofty behavior
expectations at De La Salle, but learning how to control their
emotions, many times, is one of the most important skills students
take with them when they graduate from De La Salle.
